Cree Tamarack Tree Decoy Goose This is a souvenir folk art piece that I bought in Moose Factory, James Bay, Ontario, Canada in September of 2001 at an aboriginal Cree market. These decoys were also life size-made and used for hunting, but this practice was fading in the 50's . The art was revived in 1968 by John Blueboy of Moose Factory and smaller souvenir versions were created by local artisans. You can read up this in wikepedia. I had this beautiful piece on display in my home until then. It measures ten cm (4") long and twelve cm( 5") high.
